Chiangwa, together with the national workers council passed a vote of no confidence against Madziyire and his administration. Madziyire was accused of tinkering with the constitution to defer the elections and extend his executive stay in power.
The AFM national council, part of its councilors and about 750 assembly members convened at Rufaro Conference center in Masvingo today to elect its new leadership today. The AFM decided to stay with the original constitution ,chose its interim National and provincial representatives until elections in October.

Meanwhile, the ousted Madziyire is adamant that the ‘coup’ was illegal and he will be approaching the high court to nullify the outcome of the gathering.
