Exclusive: Bayern Munich May Sack Pep Guardiola Before Manuel Pellegrini Leaves Manchester City

PEP GUARDIOLA may after all not last the season at Bayern Munich with pressure mounting on the Spaniard since announcing he was joining Manchester City.

While outgoing Etihad boss Manuel Pellegrini maintains both his composure and dignity a German storm is beginning to engulf his successor.

His Bayern bosses, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Uli Hoeness and Matthias Sammer who even in the best of times have a somewhat fractured relationship with the former Barcelona manager, are unhappy that Guardiola has already committed to City with important months of the season still to go.

Although the Bundesliga title appears bound for the Allianz Arena, Bayern bosses are not judged on domestic football.

The Champions League is the litmus test for anyone connected with the Bavarian giants and the three former German internationals who effectively run the club are worried that Guardiola’s mind is already elsewhere.

Bayern face a tough round of 16 clash with Italian champions Juventus and those close to the club believe that failure to reach the quarter-finals could see Guardiola make an earlier than planned exit.

While his predecessor Jupp Heynckes signed off with success in Europe’s biggest competition Guardiola has lost twice in the semi-finals to his old club Barcelona and his one time bitter rivals Real Madrid.

His media conferences have become tetchy as his future at Manchester City is inevitably brought into the equation while there have been fall outs with some of his players.

Which is all in stark contrast to City’s ‘Charming Man’, Pellegrini, whose handling of the managerial take over has endeared him to the public and the majority of a hard bitten media.
