Manchester United are reportedly ready to pay a staggering £350million to sign both Lionel Messi and Neymar from Barcelona.

The Catalan giants are struggling with an enormous wage bill at the moment, and that pressure won’t ease with reports that Neymar is pushing for a new deal and pay rise.

United have been strongly linked with the Brazilian in the past, and could now look to add both these world class attackers in a double swoop.

Man United scout Nicolas Gaitan ahead of transfer – report

Another long-time target is back on the agenda for United, with reports claiming club scouts have been watching Benfica’s Nicolas Gaitan again.

The Argentine winger has long stood out as one of the best players in the Portuguese league, and has been linked with other top clubs in the past.

With Van Gaal stressing his need for more pace in attack, it makes sense that a deal for Gaitan could be under consideration again.

Finally, Manchester United want to beat Arsenal to the signing of highly-rated Ajax wonderkid Abdelhak Nouri.

The 18-year-old midfielder is considered a huge talent coming through in Dutch football, and Van Gaal’s connections with his old club make United the front-runners.

As well as making big-money signings at Old Trafford, LVG has also done well to give chances to young players.
